Dating the Voluptuous way: How curvy women should dress for a day or night out on the town!

YES! I'm absolutely going to go there! Dating is hard enough without adding the prep time it takes to get ready for it, but when you also add to the equation being plus sized it takes the "Dating Game" to a new level entirely.

The first date can make or break a possible future relationship, so it's important to identify whether or not your comfortable with this person in a setting were it will be the two of you and no other daters (double dating), or group setting. If you can, find out what type of date your going out on so that dressing for the occasion will be as effortless as possible. Not only will knowing ahead of time give you an edge, but it will also provide you with back up conversation material should you run out of things to talk about. But if your date is cute, articulate, and knowledgeable trust me you should not be lacking in the communication department. But should you find that they're all looks and no substance cut and run ASAP! Because there's nothing worst that a cute DULL date; whose only conversation is about me, myself, & I.

For a casual date: whether it be two people or a group, I would recommend a versatile flowing top maybe a solid color; something not too busy, a slim cute pair of jeans (to show off your shape or your hour glass shape), and a cute flat or booties to complement with limited accessories. It's best to stick to earrings and bangles to draw attention to your face and hands. Go light on the makeup, your date shouldn't be tempted to use a butter knife to chisel the foundation off of your face!

For a lunch date: I suggest to try and be dressy casual. That way you will be prepared for any lunch setting; wether it be in a bistro, a deli, a cafe, or a hot dog in the park; always put your best foot forward. P.S. Wear comfy shoes nothing too over the top that screams expensive & uncomfortable. That way if you two go for a walk you won't be unpleasant because your feet hurt. And we ALL know that when our feet starts to hurt the date or occasion is pretty much over.

For a beach or boardwalk date: Humm? That's a little more playful, so something light and airy would work best on this date. Possible a breathable cotton top, a crop pant or Capri, and a comfy light weight sneaker like Toms or a wedge. Little to no accessories and a light handbag if needed. On a beach date its likely that you will be out in the sun a majority of the time; so light clothing is essential. Also, there are plenty of boardwalk activities to do so wearing pants are a must! This date should be really fun so you can be sure there will be no awkward silences between you. Makeup should be minimal, and sun screen a must.

Now the date I know you've been waiting for the " Dinner Date" : This date is the most important date of all the dates previous. On this date there are no distractions. No friends, activities, or interruptions. This is when you really show who you are, and this is your chance to really WOW your date! When dressing show your personality; be classic but memorable. If wearing something black, be sure that your jewelry & accessories including your shoes stands out and brightens your ensemble. For your make up bring the attention to your eyes and mouth. You should always want to hold the attention there so that during conversation you'll be able to gage their reactions.

Over all, dating when with a great person can be a memorable experience or a disaster waiting to happen; but whatever the outcome please believe that you will be the best part of it! As always stay beautiful, confident, sexy, and full figured!!

Full Figured Novels Fit or Flop: the truth about novels geared towards plus size women.

Who are full figured women? We are much more than our fabulous figures, we are intelligent, capable, worthy, stubborn, yet loving all at once. So, in being all that we are; there should be media or written works that reflect the different persona's we possess? Well, there are some written works out in the world; but a majority of them reflect a plus size woman as sort of depressed, no self worth, or settling in what or whom ever is available in that moment. And this conclusion is simply not true, though we all have the ability to throw ourselves pity parties every now and then at some point we get over it and move on. The characters in some of these novels seem to live in there misery. This trend of a low to no self esteem plus size woman has to stop! We need to have a better representation of the issues we face than the demur character that is lacking in relevance. I have read quite a few full figured novels that were absolutely on point as far as what we endure and how we endure it; but some of the others make me question the motive of some of these writers. What do you think? Have you read a genre for full
Figured women? If so, how did you feel about it?

Recently, on Fashion Plus's Facebook page(www.facebook.com/FashionPlusBlog) I've suggested some books that could possibly have the potential to be great reads they are:

• Real Fitness for Real Women by Rice Rochell

• Down that aisle in style by: Chanein Canton

• The curvy Girl's guid to style by: Chastity Garner

• We just have more to love by: W. Roger Borwnlee

I've never read these works before and will be reading them with you all. So, we'll be discovering the possibilities together. As always stay BEAUTIFUL, CONFIDENT, & above all SEXY! Any comments, questions etc. Please leave them below or contact me on:

Voluptuous Beach BOMBSHELLS! What are you wearing to the beach?

Hey Diva's! Its that time again, BEACH SEASON! This is the time of summer we ladies dread the most, but this is our year ladies and I'm so excited to show some of the styles plus size designers have waiting for us! But first lets have a weigh in, how many of you ladies love the summer; but just hate to show arms, legs, and tummies? I know just how you feel, I would wear jeans or something that covered my legs whenever I was near the beach for fear that I would be embarrassed. But as I got a little older, bolder, and of course sexier the fear went away. You see Diva's no one can embarrass you, but you. And we all know that confidence speaks volumes! Believe me, the designers have heard our cries and we have what I like to call beach couture, yes were going from the CATWALK to the BOARDWALK and everywhere in between! Enjoy ladies, and I hope to see you all out there being full figured, confident, and above all SEXY!

The Oh, I can do that girl!: styles so close they are simililar...Wait! They are exactly the same!

Do you know her?...She knows you...Watches your every move...Until it happens...You know what I'm talking about...She'll wear exactly what you wear! Ahhhh!

Divas! Have any of you been in this awkward situation when someone close to you, or a random person you might have said; hi to, is the exact copy or you? It's strange but it does happen. We full figured women work so hard to establish our own personal styles that every now and then styles cross paths, and that leads to disaster! The worst thing any woman could imagine style wise, is that another woman is wearing the same outfit as them; and even worse IT COULD FIT BETTER! This happen when you have friends and/or associates of similar size (sometimes, not always) that try to out due the other. How can you protect yourself? First, if you have a suspicion that someone you know has a tendency to wear the same item you do, make a conscious effort to not tell them what you want to wear ahead of time; especially to an event. A Diva more inclined to morph into you will most likely try to some how out due you and try to take your individuality away. Second, try not to shop together. I know that's pushing it! Women like to shop together give and give advice or opinions on an outfit choice, but when ATTENTION is on the line best of friends can become the worst of enemies. Have you ever had a friend who told you that you look good in a outfit (I know I have) knowing that you looked a HOT MESS? Yes ladies! The picture is starting to become a little more clearer isn't it? Not everyone is guilty of a crime like this, but lets be real it has happened before and there is nothing wrong with wanting to make an effort to stop the messiness. The next thing you want to do is find something that will stick out about you, like I've said before play up your "talents" so to speak; there is nothing more sexy than a woman with confidence. When you have confidence it shows, when your conscious about things that are troubling you of course that will show as well. If you found yourself in a situation that is uncomfortable remove yourself from it or change the mood to suit your favor. You are too beautiful to ever be in the shadows, go out on a limb and step it up. Try looks that are not the "norm" for you and see how they make you feel. Divas, I don't give advice to things I don't do my self or make an effort to do. I'm just the same as you, a full figured woman trying to find and keep great personal style. By talking with you ladies I have found a comfort in the plus size community that I didn't have growing. Believe me I've made some big mistakes, but it's all a learning process; and I'm learning with you. As always stay beautiful, confident, and full figured!
